The Maryland Multi-Housing Association, which represents providers of rental housing and professional residential services, has elected officers for its board of directors.
Keith Gillan, president of Murn Management, was elected president of the board. Stephen Margerum, founder of Cove Property Management, is the new vice president; Steve Weidner, president of Carpet Consultants, is now treasurer; and Patrick Butler, a vice president at Bozzuto Management, has been elected secretary.

Cove Property Management (Cove) and Advantage Properties (Advantage) announced the acquisition of the eaves Rockville, a 210-unit townhome/apartment community in Rockville, adding to their growing portfolio of properties they own and manage in the Baltimore-Washington, DC metro area. The residential complex, which will be renamed Villas at Rockville, represents their largest purchase to-date and the largest equity raise in the company’s history. The principals of each company will own the property in a newly created entity where Cove will provide property management services and Advantage will provide asset management services.
On October 21st, Stephen Margerum was honored at the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) Fall Conference in San Diego with its Professional Achievement Award. The award recognizes individuals who have earned an IREM-conferred credential who (1) have continued on with their professional development activities and (2) have realized outstanding professional accomplishments beyond earning their IREM credential.
Honorees must meet specific award criteria and document them in writing. As well, they must be endorsed by their local IREM® chapter and be approved by IREM’s Membership & Credentialing Committee.

Cove Property Management is proud to announce Gardens of Annapolis won the Gold Star Award for Active Adult Community. Since 1997, MMHA has recognized industry excellence at the annual Star Awards Ceremony.
There were nine other competitors in this category, and Linda Cochran and her team worked hard to achieve this first place award. Cove Property Management is extremely proud of them and their stellar performance in this well-deserved accomplishment.
The MMHA Star Awards are designed to honor members of the association who exhibit the most outstanding and innovative properties and professionals in the Maryland multi-housing industry. All awards are based on nominations from the membership and are judged by a third party.
We are proud to announce that Autumn Robinson and Katie Lapennas of Cove Property Management have received their ARM designation and pins during the IREM Chapter 16 September meeting aboard the Raven in downtown Baltimore.
